Samsung Epic 4G ready to get FCC approval
Posted on: July 21, 2010 [Source]

It looks like a new Android phone has got the blessing from the FCC. What you see in the below picture is the outline of the Sprint's Epic 4G which was identified by the model number SPH-D700. Although most of the details and other photos remain under the confidentiality agreement of the FCC, it seems that we're about to see the Samsung Epic 4G coming out soon.

As you probably remember, almost one month ago Sprint was announcing the launch of the Epic 4G, without mentioning any specific date. As for the specs, we refresh your memory and say the Samsung's Epic 4G will feature same 4-inch super AMOLED display, QWERTY keyboard, 5MP primary camera with LED flash and 720p video recording, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 512 MB RAM, 1GB ROM.

Powered by the Android 2.1 platform, it also comes equipped with mobile hotspot functionality over WiMax and it will be compatible with Cellular/PCS CDMA/EvDO plus Bluetooth and WLAN. Even if the official staff from Sprint didn't rush in giving a release date for the device, but considering now the approval received from the FCC, we'll see it coming soon enough. Exactly when and for what price, we'll say as we have some fresh infos. Till then, stay tuned!
