Samsung Epic 4G - Android Phones
Samsung Epic 4G
Posted on: June 29, 2010 [Source]

We have seen the HTC EVO as the America's first 4G phone launched early this month. Now Samsung and Sprint announced the existance of the Epic 4G described as "a Galaxy S smartphone". Remember the Samsung Galaxy S Pro spotted a few weeks ago? This is the same device, a part of Samsung Galaxy S family, the first 4G phone with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard included.

As no surprise, the Epic 4G comes with the same 4-inch super AMOLED display, a QWERTY keyboard, 5MP primary camera with LED flash and 720p video recording plus a VGA front-facing cam for video calls, the known 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 512 MB RAM, 1GB ROM. Powered by the Android 2.1 platform, it also features 802.11b/g/n WiFi, six-axis accelerometer, the EV-DO rev, 3G and 4G Wifi hotspot access for up to five devices plus DLNA support, Social Hub and more.

Of course, the version 2.2 will be updated "in the near future", with nothing sure yet. As for the pricing and the availability of this phone, there is no mention. But we have a hunch we won't wait too much, cause later today the Samsung's event begins and is a big chance to find out more details. 'Till then, see the Sprint's press release.
