Motorola Droid 2 caught on video Posted on: June 21, 2010[Source] Tweet
There is no surprise here. After being leaked and spotted in many places, we got the chance to see it in a video too. The folks over at Android and Me got their hands on the Droid 2 and compared it with the first version, Motorola Droid 1. As you can see in the below video, the devices look almost identical on the outside with a redesigned keyboard for the Droid 2.
Inside it's not the same thing though. The new version features an improved and speedy 1GHz TI OMAP 3630 plus a higher memory of 512 MB instead of 256 MB (PowerVR SGX530 graphics unit remains the same) which makes it more performant than the its predecessor.
If you'll see someone using the Droid 2, you'll probably confuse it with the first Droid, because, physical speaking, both phones have the same shape, size and weight. They even use the same battery. The major difference is inside. On the outside we notice also a different keyboard and a new silver bezel around the display.
As for the OS, it is expected to launch with Android 2.1 and then be updated with Android 2.2, without something certain. Mayber Wednesday would be the good time to find out more infos about the release date, pricing and more. If you loved the first Droid so much, you want it improved and with a refresh design, here is Droid 2. Watch this hands-on video and decide it.
