Motorola Droid X hands on
Posted on: June 16, 2010 / Category: Motorola Android Phones

The end of the month seems to be quite important for Android enthusiasts. After receiving an invitation from Samsung to "save the date" for June 29th, six days earlier, Verizon and Motorola are going to unleash the next generation of Droid. They are probably referring to Droid X, Droid 2 or both.

As for the Droid X, the folks over at Engadget have received an exclusive hand-on experience with it and they shared with us too. Probably on of the best kept secret Android phone, the Motorola Droid X is huge, fast and pretty awesome. Call it smartphone or super phone, it seems (not confirmed yet) the display has 4.4-inch, FWVGA 854 x 480-resolution screen, instead of 4.3-inch which puts it in front of the HTC EVO.

It will run Android 2.1 with "some new sort of Motoblur" (perhaps Ninjablur) interface, the same 8 MP camera announced with records 720p videos, a speedy 1GHz ARMv7 processor, multitouch keyboard and the 8GB of storage space. Excepting the impressive display and the faster processor, the specs are almost the same announced few days ago.

If you got impress by all these pics and specs, you may wanna mark the 19th July in your calendar. According to Droid Life, who spoked directly to those from Verizon, the Droid X and Droid 2 will be released that day. But the official announcement will be made next week at the event.

Until then, watch the source link for the beautiful gallery pics, some videos and other infos about the Motorola Droid X.

Probably the previous name was too eXtreme, cause just when we thought we had its final name, it appears in Verizon's internal database system as the Droid X. It's an awesome name for such a reviewed device and great for marketing purposes. Hopefully, we wouldn't see any other changes soon.
