Gigabyte's new Android phone Posted on: January 20, 2010 [Source]
Rumors has it that a new smartphone is coming on the market. As we heard from GsmArena, Gigabyte is trying to launch a cheap Android device that will look pretty much like HTC Tattoo. Right now, Tattoo is the cheapest Android phone, but not for so longtime.
Many identical specs are expected to be between these two smarpthones, both running Android v1.6:
- 528 MHz processor
- 256 MB RAM
- 512MB ROM
- 2.8" QVGA display
- WI-FI, GPS, Bluetooth, microSD and
- 3.5 mm headphones.
Still, few differences will be. The Gigabyte's smartphone will have two-band GSM/EDGE, versus the Tattoo's quad-band GSM/EDGE and two-band 3G with 7.2Mbps HSDPA. Htc Tattoo has a 3 MP camera, while Gigabyte phone will have only 2 MP. One more thing. We have also the physical dimensions: 103 x 54 x 13.4 mm powered by a 1500mAh battery.
Yes, it has a name too. It will be called GSmart and it's expected to be release in February for a lower price than 210 euro (Htc Tattoo's actual price).
